Self Regional Healthcare is a not-for-profit regional referral hospital located in Greenwood, South Carolina. Founded in 1951, it serves a seven-county area in Upstate South Carolina and operates as a 358-bed rural community teaching hospital. The organization changed its name from Self Memorial Hospital to Self Regional Healthcare in 2001 to reflect its expanded services. The hospital offers a wide range of healthcare services, including prevention and wellness programs, acute and tertiary care services such as cancer care, neurosurgery, and heart and vascular surgery. It also provides NICU and childbirth services, intensive and coronary care units, outpatient treatment, and COVID-19 testing and vaccination programs. Self Medical Group, the hospital's physician network, includes over 115 physicians across 33 practices. Additionally, Self Regional Healthcare supports educational initiatives through pharmacy and family medicine residency programs and is backed by the Self Regional Healthcare Foundation, which has contributed nearly $28 million to enhance healthcare access in the region.
