SECO Energy, originally known as Sumter Electric Cooperative, Inc., is a not-for-profit electric cooperative founded in 1938. It serves over 250,000 homes and businesses across seven counties in Central Florida, making it the third-largest cooperative in Florida and the seventh largest in the nation. The cooperative operates 14,174 miles of energized line to deliver reliable electric service to nearly 500,000 consumers daily. Headquartered in Sumterville, Florida, SECO Energy focuses on providing safe and affordable electric service. The cooperative offers energy efficiency programs to help customers reduce consumption and lower their electric bills. Additionally, it provides the Surge MitiGator™, a service designed to protect members from electrical surges and spikes. With approximately 391 employees, SECO Energy remains committed to its community and local partnerships.
